Another crap week in the life of Blackpool FC Fri 29th May 2015 18:40 You'd like to think in the crap world of Blackpool FC that one day we will finally hit rock bottom and things may start to improve. There have been many false dawns from the last minute escape from relegation at Wigan to the appointment of Jose Riga but each have proved little more than minor blips. In fact, if anything, those moments when you think we're finally on the up are worse than when we get slapped in the face with another piece of bad news - it's the hope that kills you! |
Looks like Cubero has gone as well Sun 17th May 2015 17:49 So where does the never ending procession of players leaving Bloomfield Road end? It would appear that Blackpool's quest to hold on to Jose Cubero may be in vain after the midfielder said that a work permit could be a problem in League One. |
Blackpool 0 Fulham 1 Sun 19th Apr 2015 12:55 'Oyster Out' came the chants from both the Blackpool and Fulham fans and yet Lee Clark went about his business of losing games as if no one really cares anymore. 16 games without a win now for the manager who is taking the Seasiders down in spectacular fashion. |
Bolton v Blackpool Preview Fri 03rd Apr 2015 19:53 In a season of very little good news, no Blackpool fan will take scant consolation in the fact that Blackpool can't get relegated at the Macron on Saturday. In fact the news will probably disappoint more Trotters fans than it will please Seasiders. In fact, there is a chance that we could get past Easter without facing the drop and it could come against Reading on Tuesday night. Never has there been a season where Blackpool have had so little to fight for with more than half a dozen games to go. |
Blackpool v Charlton Preview Tue 17th Mar 2015 13:19 The only worthy note from tonight's game is it will give a clearer indication of when Blackpool will be relegated. Defeat for the Seasiders against Charlton and it could all be over by 5pm on Saturday with a similar result against Leeds and many feel that relegation before Easter would be an appropriate fate for a side that has been mismanaged both on and off the pitch all season. |
Wolves v Blackpool Preview Fri 16th Jan 2015 20:02 It wasn't that long ago that the Seasiders were a Premier League side and Wolves were struggling to come to terms in League One. Fast forward a few years and nowadays a trip to Molineux sends shivers down Blackpool fans spines. With Wolves looking to bounce back to the Premier League and within reach of the play offs, Lee Clark's side know it will be one of the biggest tests under the new manager, |
Blackpool v Millwall Preview Sat 10th Jan 2015 10:36 There was a time that match day would fill Blackpool fans with hope, excitement and expectation, nowadays they approach a game with hate, repulsion and anger. When will things ever return to normality at Bloomfield Road? The vast majority would answer that question with 'when the Oyston's pack up and go' but the chances of that happening are minimal. In the meantime, Lee Clark will be starting to realise just how difficult the owners of the club are to work with. Having brought through Dom Telford and Mark Waddington, with neither having let him down, Oyston has now demoted them back to his Youth Side for not agreeing to a misely wage. |
Blackpool v Rotherham Preview Sun 28th Dec 2014 10:27 So to the halfway point of the season. After we've played Rotherham, there'll be 23 games on the point and at the moment 13 points to show for it. In the second half of last season we mustered just 14 points, so at least Lee Clark and his side have a chance to better what their predecessors did at the start of the year. Either way less than 30 points for what is effectively a whole season of football reflects where we're up to. We are in real relegation form and it's unlikely even the most optimistic Blackpool fan will feel we'll get out of this in 2015. |
Sheffield Wednesday v Blackpool Preview Wed 24th Dec 2014 16:29 After the 6-1 defeat to Bournemouth, one of the comments I heard whilst leaving Bloomfield Road was 'that won't be the game that gets us relegated'. In truth, it won't help our cause but the damage was done way before Lee Clark arrived and tried to patch up the mess that he inherited. The Good Ship Blackpool is going down quickly unless Clark can stop the leaks and quickly. Conceding six goals against the Cherries only tells half the story because the lack of goals at the other end has arguably been our greatest downfall this season. |
Blackpool v Bournemouth Preview Fri 19th Dec 2014 21:02 The two ends of the Championship meet on Saturday. Bournemouth are the new seaside darlings who everyone is backing to get to the Premier League to keep alive the dreams of every Football League club. Meanwhile at the foot of the table are Blackpool - a side who have been to the top table, gorged on the financial feast and are now the forgotten favourites of many fans. |
